Agios Gordis, Corfu GREECE - Guide to Agios Gordis holidays
The most amazing thing about Agios Gordis (Aghios Gordios) is the breathtaking view that you see when you first drive through the mountains and down to the centre of Agios Gordis village. Even though we live in Agios Gordis all year round, we never get tired of seeing the vast horizon of the Ionian sea merging into clear blue sky.
You really have to visit us to know what we mean! Surrounded by green rocky mountains (which are more reminiscent of Thailand than Greece), Agios Gordis is a small quiet village centred around the main road running down to the beach. It's a dramatic picture, a great curve ending at a steep craggy islet, and is a good base for walkers and nature lovers as well as seekers of a quiet beach holiday.

Aghios Gordis has a huge bay with a beautiful, sweeping crescent of sand and pebble. There is a tiny islet offshore. Backed by forested hills that tempt keen walkers, and fronted by a turquoise sea, life here revolves around the beach, at the southern end of which is a gigantic rock, the Ortholith, where snorkelling is particularly good. Facing west, it is a terrific beach for catching the afternoon sun. The tavernas in Agios Gordios are renowned for excellent food. A local speciality is squid stuffed with bacon, cheese and garlic. The village of Agios Gordis is relaxing, but by no means asleep. It can get busy in high season and there is the occasional disco.
There's Pelekas, at the top of a twisting road and below it the popular resort of Glyfada. Other excursions include the leisurely Boat Barbecue - what better way to see Corfu than cruising along its rugged coast - and the unmissable Greek Extravaganza, a perfect opportunity to dance the night away.
Natasa House - Aghios Gordios, Corfu
Natasa House is located at the back of Agios Gordio main road, surrounded by a pictersque garden, where is very peacefull and still you have the village feel, just 100m from the beach and 150 meters from the center of the resort. The house is decorated with desire from the owners who their aim was to create a traditional Corfu mansion.
Holidays in Agios Gordis - Corfu, GREECE
On the north coast of the island of Corfu, near Kassiopi in an extensive area of lush vegetation and a scenic 40km journey from Corfu airport through mountainous landscape and old quaint Greek villages. Hills rise up from the lush plain of Acharavi and peak at Mount Pantokrater, one of the highest mountains on Corfu. It all makes a pleasing combination of beach, hills and mountains. Acharavi is popular with those seeking a relatively uncomplicated resort where they can take it easy and relax. It is an attractive resort for families and couples being neither quiet backwater nor overdeveloped. The Roman baths and the more traditional parts of old Acharavi village are on and around the main street parallel to the sea from where  narrow lanes make the short distance to the beach.
There is a wide range of relaxing and moderately priced accommodation from individual studios to luxury hotels and villas with exclusive swimming pools. This gently expanding resort now offers several good tavernas, bars and restaurants and a sufficiently busy nightlife should you wish to have a lively night. The Acharavi area has an abundance of other good beaches like the popular  neighbouring Corfu beach resorts of Roda and Almyros, the latter tending to be the local’s choice, generally a touch more tranquil and with an unofficial nudist beach.
These Corfu resorts to the west and east of the town offer variety within short distances to complement an Acharavi holiday.  If the award-winning waters of Acharavi beach get a little tame, a visit can be made to a local water park attraction “Hydropolis” found as you leave the town for Kasiopi. Or you may be enticed by good water sport opportunities. Acharavi is well-liked by snorkelers who have many attractive areas to explore, and there are diving schools for those who wish to go a little deeper. Boats can be hired to view Acharavi and the dramatic Corfu coast from the sea. Acharavi is surrounded by other attractions like the island of Erikoussa.  An enticing excursion is Corfu town itself with its mixture of old and new, tourist present and traditional past, with ample bar life from small local bars to livelier younger options.
Information about Agios Gordis beach
The long beach of Aghios Gordis is found in front of the homonymous small tourist resort within a natural environment of luxurious green, an excellent sea and very interesting scenic features. It is situated at a distance of 19 kilometers eastern to the capital Corfu (Kerkyra). The beach is  well organized, sandy in its major part, and pebbly at spots. Impressive groups of rocks seem to divide the beach in smaller parts; one of these groups of rock, named Ortholithi, is found within the sea, a very interesting theme for photographs. Agios Gordis beach offers facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas) as well as for sea sports. There is also a small diving center at the beach, both for the “freshers” in the sport and for more expert divers. Access from the nearby capital (Corfu, 19 kilometers) is possible by rented or private cars and motorbikes.  The village is also connected with Corfu town by public bus (the green ones), with regular service, and you may always use a taxi.
