Kassiopi, Corfu GREECE - Guide to Kassiopi resort
The charming town of Kassiopi is set in a pretty location. It is backed by Mount Pandokrator, which is strewn with flowers in the spring, and boasts a picture-postcard harbour flanked by shingle coves and pebbly beaches. Despite recent tourist development, it retains all the atmosphere of a picturesque fishing village. Located approximately 36km north of Corfu Town and the airport, the resort has excellent amenities and really does have something for everyone. Most of the beaches are pebbly, small and hidden away in stunning secluded spots. There are two larger beaches further north - Kalamionas and Imerolia - these have various watersports on offer. Kassiopi is still a working fishing port, so be sure to sample some fresh fish during your stay. There is a wide array of eateries to chose from. Nightlife is well-catered for in the numerous bars and handful of discotheques. If you have the energy, climb Mount Pandokrator, for some of the best views in the world. Go as early in the day as possible to avoid climbing during the midday heat. Kassiopi is blessed with a wealth of history and was once a holiday destination for wealthy Romans.
Holidays in Kassiopi - Corfu GREECE
Kassiopi is a charming town on the north-east corner of the island of Corfu, 22 miles north of Corfu town and the airport. Kassiopi has the magnificent backdrop of Mount Pantokrator and hills covered with olive groves, vines and citrus plantations. It is a colourful place reached by picturesque coast roads. There are views out to sea to the Albanian coast. Kassiopi offers a satisfying array of possibilities from lively bar culture to relaxed bathing and people watching. Despite being an established resort, it still retains something of its fishing village past and its importance in ancient history. Fisherman still work from the harbour alongside flashier modern boats. The harbour with its little square is today the focal point of the town’s social life by day and a pretty trendy place by night. Kassiopi has plenty of quieter calmer bars and restaurants, the latter a mix of tourist and traditional, with particularly good fresh fish thanks to local fishermen. Kassiopi is popular at young visitors, teenagers and groups, but without the excesses of some of the more notorious party spots in Greece. Parents of fun-loving teenagers can easily find peace, quiet and beauty within a short walk of village centre. In case of health problems, a Medical center is available in the village. The village has also a police station and a fire tender. Access from the capital (Corfu, 37 kilometers far away) is possible by rented or private cars and motorbikes. Facilities for mooring of yachts and water and fuel supply are available in the small port.

Kassiopi Corfu holiday Reviews:
Kassiopi - Julie Melton. Date of travel: Jun 2006
Having been going to Kassiopi for 15 years on and off and already booked next year for 2 weeks. It is lush, green and beautiful and the people are so welcoming. The harbour is bustling and comes gently alive at night - so many bars with karaoke, quiz nights or maybe just a drink - whatever you like really and a different restaurant every night. Janis is a superb restaurant overlooking the sea. Bolero - go get a wicked breakfast and go to Illusions and Jasmines for karoake and a good night. I would live in Kassipoi if I could or at least retire there, I have met people who have and all have been really happy.

What can I say about Kassiopi. It is absolutely wonderful, just like the whole of Corfu. Last year was our first visit to the island and we fell in love. It's green, scenic, friendly. we stayed in the Nikiforos apartments. Very basic but ideally located. The owners were fab, hired a car which is a must, there is so much to see on the island. Can guarantee something for everyone. The food is amazing and there is a different restaurant for every night of the week. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return. Tour Operator: Sunset
