Holidays in Pefkos - Rhodes, GREECE
Pefkos is in the middle of the east coast of Rhodes, 2 miles from Lardos and Lindos and 37 miles from Rhodes town and the airport. Pefkos offers a low-key, relaxed and relatively undeveloped resort set in a sandy bay. The resort is set on a hillside and is surrounded by pine forests, hills, vineyards, olive groves, citrus plantations and fig trees. Holidays in Pefkos (which means “pine”) can enjoy a chain of sandy coves backed by tall pine trees. It is far from sleepy and has all the necessary amenities but it still remains a much quieter option than its famous neighbour Lindos. Pefkos has compact centre where you will find a decent range of Greek restaurants and tavernas and plenty of places catering for the British tourist too. It offer a modest selection of bars and a disco. Those in search of something livelier should take a taxi to Lindos.
Pefkos offers an appealing village that retains a good deal of traditional charm along with a long sandy beach. It has a sand and shingle beach with shallow water, fringed by pines and accessed by narrow lanes from the village. Small rocky coves with shallow water excellent for children continue from one end of the main beach. A short walk in either direction is rewarded with more small coves. The beach at Glystra is an attractive beach with excellent fine sand. Pefkos also enjoys the neighbouring resort of Lardos, a quiet traditional Greek village with a long uncrowded sandy beach that continues for miles to the west. Other beaches that could be visited are: Lothiarika beach and the windsurfer’s favourite, Prasonissi beach; a striking mile-long stretch of sand with a couple of tavernas
With Lindos just 2 miles along the coast, Pefkos enjoys the attractions, bustle and nightlife of this famous resort while remaining apart. Yous should take advantage of glass-bottomed boats that leave regularly for Lindos, a delightful way to visit this most famous and picturesque of Rhodes villages. Regular buses run to Rhodes town and Lindos. Other favourite Pefkos holiday excursions include island tours, boat trips to the island of Symi, the waterpark at
Faliraki and Marmaris in Turkey. Pefkos could make a fine base for exploring the unspoilt south of Rhodes

Pefkos is a slighly more upmarket and expensive resort than others in
Rhodes.
Pefkos is more suited to couples rather than the singles scene or children. The beach is narrow but very nice and there is a great selection of Greek tavernas here. Beware if you want fish as you are charged by the weight which usually means the bill is a lot more expensive than one expects. For a more lively evening out take the bus to
Lindos and get a taxi back. Overall a holiday to take it easy.
